{"id":35,"date":"2016-05-13T15:10:35","date_gmt":"2016-05-13T15:10:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/spr\/classic-blog-page\/"},"modified":"2018-12-29T16:42:51","modified_gmt":"2018-12-29T16:42:51","slug":"awards","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/geo-paleontologica.org\/en\/awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The Romanian Society of Paleontologists awards 6 biennial honorific prizes, announced during the National Symposiums of Palaeontology.\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">These awards are:<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">1.\u00a0<strong><em>Ion Simionescu Award<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 for major achievements in Palaeozoology;<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">2.\u00a0<strong><em>Emil Pop Award<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 for major achievements in Palaeobotany;<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">3.\u00a0<strong><em>Dan Patrulius Award<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 for major achievements in Biostratigraphy;<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">4.\u00a0<strong><em>Orest\u00a0Mir\u0103ut\u0103\u00a0Award<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 for major achievements in Palaeontology belonging to young (under 35) researchers;<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">5.\u00a0<strong><em>Liviu Ionesi Award<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 for major achievements in palaeontology and stratigraphy applied in Regional Geology;<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">6.\u00a0<strong><em>Theodor Neagu Award<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 for major achievements in Micropalaeontology.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Award conditions<br \/><\/strong>These honorific prizes are awarded to RSP members with major contributions to the respective fields, achieved during the preceding 2-year time frame. Depending on the available financial possibilities of the RSP, these awards might be doubled by pecuniary prizes.\u00a0<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The scientific contributions of the candidates must be represented either by books published at renowned publishing houses which are recognized by the national and international scientific community, or by first-authored (or corresponding authored) papers published in ISI journals with an impact factor larger than 2.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><strong>Methodology<br \/><\/strong>To apply for either one of these awards, the candidates, RSP members, must submit an application a containing:<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">1. The award application form\u2013 that has to be completed by a mentor (a recognized personality in the scientific community, with reputation in the domain of the award); the mentor does not need to be a RSP member.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">2. The applicant\u2019s Curriculum Vitae.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">3. The publication(s) (in PDF and\/or printed format) for which the award is requested.<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The documents will be submitted via e-mail or regular mail to one of the designated RSP secretaries at least three months before the next General Assembly of the RSP. The secretary verifies the submitted application packages and forwards these to the RSP Award Committee for consideration.
